KRYNICA-ZDRÓJ (until 2002 Krynica)

Province: Małopolska
County: Nowy Sącz

Arms of Krynica-Zdrój

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on October 17, 2003.

The pitcher appeared on the seals and arms of the town since the 19th century. The pitcher refers to the mineral waters, which could be drunk from the pumping station in pitchers.

The blue colour and the three crowns refer to the Bishops of Krakow, to which the village belonged for a long period of time.

The previous arms were designed in 1990 and showed a pitcher with a fountain. Before 1990 several other designs have been in use.
