i rött fält Östergötlands vapenbild, en gyllene grip med drakvinge och draksvans smat med blå draktunga och beväring, i vart av sköldens hörn åtföljd av en ros av silver.

Origin/meaning
The Ship uses the Coat of Arms of the namegiving province. The name has been used by a Galley (launched 1749), a Destryer in Service 1958-1982 and at present the name is used by a Submarine in Service since 1985.
