Origin/meaning
San Pawl il-Bahar's arms show the sea, and a snake. When St. Paul shipwrecked on Malta (presumably at San Pawl il-Bahar), a snake attacked him but it did not kill him, Afterwards he converted the Maltese into Christianity.
