NIEDERSTOCKEN

Canton : Bern
Bezirk : Thun (until 2010 Niedersimmental)

Niederstocken.jpg

Official blazon

Geteilt von Rot mit einer silbernen, goldbesamten Rose mit grünen Kelchzipfeln, und von Silber mit einem schwarzen Baumstrumpf (Stock), begleitet von zwei roten Sternen.

Origin/meaning

The rose is taken from the arms of the Seftigen district, to which the village belonged historically. The lower part is canting, Stock meaning trunk. The arms are nearly identical to the arms of Oberstocken. The two stars represent Ober- and Niederstocken. In Niederstocken the trunk is in the (canting) lower half, in Oberstocken in the upper half.
The arms are devised and adopted in 1941.
