Medelst vågskuror fyra gånger delat av blått, silver, rött, silver och blått.
Origin/meaning
The arms are known since the 1570s and simply indicate the many streams and rivers in the province.

For the funeral procession of King Gustav Vasa in 1560 other arms were shown for Medelpad; a black beaver in a silver field. The beaver was an important fur animal in the area. Why the arms were changed is not known.
