I fält av silver ett svart ankare och däröveren av vågskura bildad röd ginstam, belagd med tre kugghjul av silver.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1946 and again in 1977.
The arms show symbols of industry and shipping, the two main sources of income in the city and were newly devised in 1946. The addition of the other municipalities did not change the arms.
