Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 28, 1947.
The Wavy partition alludes to the Fuluälv and the Västerdalälven. The Vase symbolises the recalling of Gustav Eriksson (Vasa) at the Village of Sälen.
The Boats symbolises that the Area was populated by People that arrived by the Waterways.
