Arms of Wieliczka

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

Wieliczka received city rights in 1290. The arms show three miner's hammers, a symbol for the salt mining, which has taken place near the city for about 1000 years. The arms were officially granted in 1938, but the colours have been changed regularly since.
