District/county (județ) : Caraș-Severin
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 28, 2005.
The cross and the crescent moon refer to the battles with the Turks, the town being placed in the middle of the conflicts between the Ottomans and the Habsburgs between the XVII-XVIII centuries on one of the access roads of the Ottoman troops to the Habsburg Empire.
The oak branches represent the deciduous forests in the area, and the lamb, the traditional occupation, the shepherd.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
