Origin/meaning
The divided shield is the arms of the Sursee district of the Luzzern Canton to which the area historically belongs.
The crossbow is taken from a seal, dating from 1235, of a knight, Johann von Hochdorf, genannt von Hildesrieden. He thus probably was Lord of Hildisrieden at the time.
