Escudo de vermelho, duas correntes passadas em aspa, tendo nas quatro extremidades grilhetas partidas, tudo de ouro, entre uma águia em voo abatido, de prata e três cachos de uvas de púrpura, folhados de prata. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ AZUEIRA “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 14, 1997.
The broken chains are the symbol of the local patron saint, St. Peter-in-Chains.
The eagle is a Roman eagle and symbolises the long history of the parish. The grapes are a symbol of the importance of viticulture for the parish.
