Escudo de ouro, faixa ondada de azul e prata de cinco tiras, tendo nascente rodízio de azenha de vermelho; em campanha, cabra passante de vermelho, armada e ungulada de negro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: " CORTES DO MEIO ".
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 19, 2003.
The upper half shows a water mill wheel, a symbol for the many (former) watermills in the parish. The wavy bar refers to the Cortes river and the goat is a symbol for the importance of goat herding and goat cheese manufacturing to the parish.
The golden colour refers to the richness of the parish.
