Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 23, 1998.

The circle with the cross reminds of the Chapel of Santa Cruz (Holy Cross), where every pilgrim on the road to Santiago de la Compostela had to draw a cross on the floor.

The basket and the two flower pots are symbola of the local handicrafts, basket making and pottery. During the centuries many great potters lived in the parish. The heraldic fountain in the base represents the Lombão river. The green shield symbolises the green fields and the agriculture in the parish.
