Escudo de púrpura, fonte de prata jorrando água de prata e azul, entre dois ramos de linho, de prata, folhados e floridos do mesmo, com as flores botonadas de ouro e os pés passados em aspa, em ponta; em chefe, espada de ouro, posta em faixa, com lâmina flamejante. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ MAMOUROS “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 3, 2001.

The is the symbol of the patron of the place, São Miguel Arcanjo (the archangel Michael). The fountain represents the well-known thermal waters that exist at Carvalhal (a part of Mamouros). The branches of hemp indicate the importance of the hemp production at Mamouros.
