THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT, BRITISH ARMY
History: Raised in 1694 as Gibson's Regiment, which in 1751 become 28th Foot and in 1756 as the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Foot, which in 1758 become 61st Foot. Those two Regiments in 1881 become 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Gloucestershire Regiment.
