NO 23 MAINTENANCE UNIT, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: formed at Aldergrove on December 1, 1939.
Official blazon
Badge: A round tower in front of a six-ponited star
Motto: Alimus = We maintain.
Origin/meaning
The Star symbolises the Six Counties of the Province of Ulster, inidacting the location of the Unit. The Round Tower is perculiar to Ireland and symbolises the Unit as a RAF Stronghold. The Badge ws granted in 1953. Unfortunately we have no information on the meaning or origin of these arms yet.
