Origin/meaning

The mining lamp refers to the former coal mines and the people who worked in and for the mines. The heraldic dolphin is the symbol for the Dauphiné region, to which the municipality belonged until 1967. The two small crosses refer to the former church of St. Lazarus and the current church of St. Peter. The point refers to the mountains and the chief refers to the former castle of which only a few ramparts remain today.
