Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on November 14, 2013.

Before 1996, the municipality used an image of a lion supported by the letter P. This image appeared in various forms of shape and color, and was modeled directly on the coat of arms of the city of Pruszcz Gdański.

In 1996 it was decided to abandon the image of a lion in favor of a griffin, symbolizing Pomerania, in which the municipality is situated. To emphasize the agricultural character of the municipality, the griffin was placed on a green shield, and the letter P was filled with a wheat ear with 27 golden seeds, symbolizing 27 villages forming the municipality. The griffin and the letter "P" were outlined with golden contours. The arms were adopted on August 9, 1996.

Although described as a griffin, the arms basically still showed a lion.

The arms from 1996

Due to the incorrect representation of the griffin and the violation of the rule of tuincture (gold on silver), the arms were redesigned in 2013.
