Origin/meaning

The arms have been officially granted on 23th January 1989.

The arms show traditionally different canting elements: a priest hat ("capell de capellà" in Catalan) and two chapels ("capelles") symbolized by two arches. Inside them there are a cross and a royal crown and fleury sceptre, an allusion to Christ and the Virgin Mary.
