Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 30, 1986.
The arms show a bar described as wolf-toothed, which makes the bar canting (ulf=wolf), even though the name of the municipality is not derived from a wolf, but either from the Ulva river of the name Ulv. The blue colour represents the sea, the gold the wheat.
