Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 24, 1962.

More than 200 years ago, the great Cistercian monastery at Neuberg was dissolved and its lands confiscated. The buildings are now used by the Oesterreichische Bundesforste (Austrian State Forests), the magnificent church of the monastery is now the parish church of Neuberg.

The main charge is a monogram of Our Lady, which is taken from the monastery arms. The bugle denotes the importance of the Bundesforste today. The Bergwerkszeichen (miner's tools) illustrate the valley's main industry in the past, which was mining and ironworks.
