Origin/meaning
The blue wavy pale symbolizes the river Albe which crosses the municipality from North to South to join the Vezouze.
The fleur-de-lys are taken from the arms of the Châtelet family, who owned the land of Grandseille and its castle located in the municipality; these estates were raised to the rank of marquisate in 1722 in favor of Remy du Châtelet.
The salmon are taken from the arms of the Counts of Blâmont, to whom the village historically belonged.
