Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on June 26, 2018.

The horseshoe symbolizes St. Philip (of philo and hippo: friend of the horses) and the shell refers to St.James, patron saints of the church of the former village (the village was nearly totally destroyed in 1914-1918).

The beetle is taken as it is the nickname of the villages, écalots (the word means beetle in the local dialect).

The base shows the valley of the Vaux river.
