Origin/meaning

The arms have been officially granted on 6th November 1995.

The sword is the attribute of St. Martin, the local patron saint. The village belonged since the 11th century to the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses; the colours, Sable and Argent, are taken from the arms of this monastery.
