Sant Jaume d'Enveja is situated at the southern half of the Ebro delta, and the rice is its main crop. The arms show a rice ear, the wavy bar representing the river Ebro and a tower Argent (the arms of Tortosa), reminding that the village belonged to this municipality until 1978.
