Origin/meaning
These arms are not official, but widely used by the local council.
Tossa de Mar is a tourist town placed on the Costa Brava, with its picturesque Vila Vella (or Old Town), surrounded by walls and towers, by the sea. The castle and town of Tossa belonged to the monastery of Ripoll. The arms show traditionally the local castle, with a thrush ("tord" in Catalan) above.
