Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 15, 1935 and confirmed on March 9, 1972.
The upper part shows the lion of Berg, as the area belonged historically to the county of Berg. The lower part shows the merging of the Agger and Sülz rivers, near Lohmar.
Literature: Nagel, R. Rheinisches Wappenbuch, 1986.
