Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 14, 1969.

The star is taken from the arms of the Swiss canton Wallis, as the first settlers in the region came from Wallis. The pine tree is the old forestry mark of the village and also indicates the importance of forests against avalanches.

Literature : Burmeister, 1975
