The arms were officially granted on ?.

The lion is the lion of the Pfalz, as nearly all municipalities historically belonged to the Principality/District of Pfalz-Simmern. The iron symbol refers to the former importance of iron mining in the area. The bordure is typical for a Verbandsgemeinde and shows 10 diamonds, one for each municipality. The diamonds are taken from the arms of the Wittelsbach family, counts and princes of the Pfalz.
