State : Rhode Island
Official blazon
Argent, the landing of Roger Williams proper.
Supporters: (Unofficial) dexter, a Revolutionary sailor with his right hand resting on an anchor; sinister, a Revolutionary military officer with his left hand resting on a drawn sword.
Origin/meaning
The arms are based on the seal of the town and have been used since 1845.
Previously the town used the arms below on the seal (which was later used by the Board of Aldermen). The colours are unknown.
