Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a white vertical rectangle arced convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border a white pirate head affronté detailed yellow shaded gold: festooned in a yellow hat shaded gold and charged on the upturned brim with a white skull and crossed bones; a yellow eye patch on his right eye and a yellow blouse collared white shaded gold; between the inscription “BOCA CIEGA” arcing above and “HIGH SCHOOL” arcing below in navy letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width
Origin/meaning
Gold and white are the school colors and symbolize the highest standards of scholarship and character. The pirate, the school mascot, demonstrates a sense of spirit and adventure.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved on 12 August 1997.
