Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a vertically tri-parted rectangular embroidered device red, white and blue, arched at top and bottom, and surmounted overall a white cougar head affronté detailed khaki all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll inscribed “WAKE FOREST” in blue letters within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll inscribed “ROLESVILLE” in blue letters within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 3/8 inches (6.99 cm) in width, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a pentagon bordered by two stylized diminished bands white and red, and surrounding a blue paw print with white highlights. All above a blue scroll with double folded ends inscribed “PRIDE” in base metal letters.
Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Red, white and blue are the school colors. The cougar is the school mascot. The extraordinary albino cougar, rarely seen but omnipresent is representational of the cadets’ dedication to support their school, community and country.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: Red, white and blue are the school colors. The cougar is the school mascot and the paw print alludes to the cadets’ readiness and dedication to support their school, community and country.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved 18 July 2006.
