Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1941, and show with the small hill in the base the high altitude of the municipality. The horns are taken from the arms of Kirchdorf, as the village belongs to the parish of Kirchdorf. The rose is taken from the arms of the Seftigen district.

Literature: Wappenbuch des Kantons Bern, 1981.
