Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 28, 1965.
The pine tree is the symbol of the Bregenzer Wald region in which the municipality is situated. To distinguish the arms of nearby municipalities, two stars were added. These are taken from the arms of the Swiss canton of Wallis, where the first settlers originated from.
The two stars also refer to the two villages, Auenfeld and Schröcken. Literature : Burmeister, 1975
