State : Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Additions : 1994 Hagenow, Schwerin-Land (partly)
Incorporated into : 2011 Ludwigslust-Parchim
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 04, 1997.
The horse symbolises the famous horse breeding station in Redefin, as well as horse-breeding in general. The horse was also part of the arms of several 13th century Counts of Schwerin.
The division line symbolises the Elbe river.
The oak leaves symbolise the former districts.
The colours are derived from the colours of the former County Schwerin (red and gold) and the County Dannenberg (red, silver and green).
