SUDERBURG
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Uelzen
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Suderburg
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 30, 1965.
The tower in the arms is a symbol for the 1000-year history of the village. The tower pas part of the former castle 'Burg im Süden'. The two tools are a typical knife to cut grass, and a spade especially used for digging drainage ditches. The tools also symbolise the fact that in the village the state school for Civil technology and water management (Staatliche Ingenieurschule für Wasserwirtschaft und Kulturtechnik) was founded, which is now the North-East Lower Sachsony Polytechnic (Fachhochschule Nordostniedersachsen).
