NO 253 (HYDERABAD STATE) SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed at Bembridge in August 1918.

Origin/meaning
The Squadron was supplied with Aircraft by the Indian State of Hyderabad and His Exhalted Highness The Nizam of Hyderabad suggested this badge because of this connection. The badge was granted in February 1942.
