MENSFELDEN
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Limburg-Weilburg (until 1973 Limburg)
Incorporated into : 1972 Hünfelden
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The above arms were proposed in 1956. I have no information whether these arms were actually adopted.
The old seals of the village, known since 1602, all show Lady Justice, with the sword and scales. After the transfer to Nassau in 1802, the seals only showed the name of the town. The village had a local court, which explains the figure. To simplify the arms, the proposal only showed the scales.
