Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 15, 1994.
The upper part of the arms show sthe three points of the Franken region (Fränkische Rechen), as a symbol for the Fulda monastery, which received the village in 860 from Count Erpho of Franken. The lower half shows a pair of scales, symbol for St. Michael, the patron siant of the former Benedictan convent in Veilsdorf. The colours gold and black of the lower half are the colours of Coburg, as the village in the19th century was owned by Coburg.
