SAINTE-COLOMBE-DE-PEYRE

Département : Lozère
Incorporated into : 2017 Peyre en Aubrac

Blason de Sainte-Colombe-de-Peyre
Official blazon
French D'azur à deux colombes affrontées d'argent; au chef d'argent chargée d'une aigle de sable.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in June 2001.

The pigeons (colombes) are a canting element and symbol for St. Columbine, the local patron saint. The chief shows the arms of the Barons and Barony of the Peyre, to which the village historically belonged.
