SAINT-SERNIN-DU-BOIS

Département : Saône-et-Loire

Blason de Saint-Sernin-du-Bois
Official blazon
French D'azur à la tour du lieu d'or, ajourée et ouverte de sable; au chef d'argent chargé d'une croisette tréflée de gueules.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on May 21, 1990.

The arms show the 14th century tower, which served as a shelter during the Hundred Years War. The cross symbolizes the fortified priory in the village.

The azure and the silver refer to the hydro-electric dam and the (artificial) lakes on which banks the village is situated.
