German | In blau über einem goldenen Dreiberg ein goldenes gestürztes Schwert, begleitet von zwei silbernen Lilien. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 6, 1975.
The mountain in the base stands for the Stemweder Berg. The sword symbolizes the former district court of Wehdem. The sword is taken from the seal of Gehrke Wedeham from 1441, who was a judge in Wehdem.
A sword was already included in the coat of arms of Amt Dielingen-Wehdem.
The lilies are taken from the coat of arms of the Abbey of Levern and point to the monastic past of the area.
