Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 7, 1984.

The arms show a tool which has been used for many centuries in the municipality to haul in large fish into the boat. The devise is made of a large piece of wood with a bone or metal hook. The tool was chosen as a symbol for the importance of fishing to the municipality.
