BARRON COUNTY
State : Wisconsin
Origin/meaning
Introduced in 2008.
Barron County’s official seal was issued by the state of Wisconsin, but in 2008, county supervisors decided it needed something more distinctive and representative of the county’s character. The results of a call-for-entries drew two proposals with the elements that seemed to capture the county’s essence, so they were combined.
The barn and silo represent the county’s agricultural background, the cabin and fisherman are indicative of the recreational cabins and lakes throughout the county, and the pine tree represents the logging that takes place there.
