Archbishop Vanags' Arms are quarterly the archdiocesean Arms in field I and IV and the personal Arms in II and III. This Shows the Eagle of St John the Evangelist in allusion to the Archbishop's First Name which is the Latvian form of the Name John. The Picture was painted by the Swedish Heraldist Bengt Olof Kälde.
