JOSEF GRAF
Born : June 30, 1957
Deceased :
Auxiliary Bishop of Regensburg, 2015-present; Titular Bishop of Inis Cathaig
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The chief shows the arms of the Diocese of Regensburg. The Irish or Celtic cross refers to his titular diocese Inis Cathaig, which was situated in Ireland. It also refers to the seminary in Regensburg, in the former Schottenkloster, Schotten being the medieval word for Irish monks.
The beech branch refers to the former huge beech (fallen in 2013) in his birthplace, the village of Pondorf.
