Origin/meaning

The arms indicate that the area is part of the Lorraine region (bend with alerions) and historically was ruled by the Bishops of Verdun (crosses).

The chif shows a gun, model Bange 1877, caliber 155, which was used in 1915 during the battle of Éparges. It was found in the ground around 1980, restored and classified as a Historic Monument in 1993, it is placed in front of the town hall and thus a landmark of the village.
