English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were designed and adopted in 1964.
The arms show several aspects of the long local history and the geographical situation. The chevron refers to the Sarthe river, which makes a steep curve in the municipality. The green field refers to the forests in the area.
The horse in the chief refers to the pre-Roman celtic (Gaul) inhabitation, as, in their religion, the horse represents the sun galopping through the sky. The two golden circles represent the many Roman coins found in the village. Finally, the tower represents the local Tour-aux-Fées tower.
