NUR
Province: Mazowsze
County: Ostrów Mazowiecka
Polish | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on June 25, 2009.
The caduceus refers to the fact that Nur was a market settlement, which was confirmed by the princes' privileges from 1434, 1437 and 1474. The anchor stands for the river port on the Bug, from which agricultural produce were sent to Gdańsk and Western Europe, created under the privilege of the Polish King Zygmunt August from 1568. The wavy bar is a representation of the Bug river.
