History: Raised at Gosport in June 1916.
Official blazon
A phoenix Or, the flames proper.
Motto: Quid caelum ruat.
Origin/meaning
The Phoenix has been a Motif used since 1928, symbolising rebirth after anything the Squadron ahd been through. The Motto translates "What if heavens falls". The badge was granted in July 1936.
